“Moorhead came out same day when our AC quit in July. Had us back up and running in a couple hours. Fair price, zero upselling, and the tech was super professional.”
Texas cooling season is about nine months. The other three are when we service your furnace. Either way, give us a call — flat-rate quoted before we touch anything.
Thanks for reaching out. We've got your request and we'll be in touch shortly, usually the same day. Need us right now? Call (830) 587-5790 — we're open 24/7.
Same-day in most cases
From a failed capacitor on the hottest afternoon to a full system replacement, we keep the Hill Country cool — flat-rate, with the common parts already on the truck.
AC repair, maintenance, installation, mini splits, and thermostats — one licensed local team, honest answers, no upsell.
Call (830) 587-5790Nine times out of ten, an AC that's running but not cooling has one of four problems: failed run capacitor, refrigerant leak, bad contactor, or a clogged drain line. We carry parts for all of them on the truck. Service call starts at $79 flat — that fee is credited toward the repair when you proceed.
The most common single-point failure in South Texas is the run capacitor. A component roughly the size of a soup can that costs about $15 wholesale. They fail in heat — specifically the hottest afternoon of July when your family is home and the dog is panting and it's already 6pm on a Friday. Which, honestly, is rude of it. We carry six on the truck. Repair takes about 40 minutes.
The $99 annual tune-up is not an upsell. It's the difference between a capacitor caught early and a failed compressor found in July.
A maintained system in South Texas runs 15–18 years. An unmaintained one might not see 10. Our 21-point inspection covers refrigerant levels, electrical components, coil condition, drain line, airflow, and a written performance report. We tell you what we found and what it means — including if everything looks fine, which is also worth knowing.
The Comfort Club maintenance plan covers your spring AC check and fall heating check for around $12 a month, plus 15% off any repairs and priority scheduling. Call us if you want the details.
We do a proper load calculation before recommending a system size. An oversized AC short-cycles — runs in quick bursts instead of long steady cycles — which means it cools but doesn't dehumidify, wears out faster, and costs more to run. An undersized unit runs constantly and never quite gets there. The right size is the right size.
The $5,000 rule is a starting point: multiply the system's age by the repair cost. Over $5,000 — replacement is worth considering. Under — repair is usually right. We'll give you the honest version, not the formula. If the system has life left in it, we'll tell you.
Mini splits make sense for garages, additions, older homes without ductwork, or any space where running new ducts would cost more than the equipment. No ductwork means no duct losses — systems are typically 25–30% more efficient than ducted setups in the same application. We size, install, and commission them. Call for a quote specific to your space.
A thermostat replacement costs $150–$400 installed, includes smart thermostat setup and HVAC compatibility verification. Check the batteries first. Justin has been to jobs where dead thermostat batteries were the whole problem. He fixes it. He still charges the service call fee. He's not embarrassed to say this.
