The Right Filter Matters More Than You Think
A clogged air filter restricts airflow, drops system efficiency, and in a furnace, trips the high-limit safety switch. But here's what most people miss: a filter that's too restrictive does the same damage. A MERV 13 filter jammed into a system not designed for it creates excessive static pressure that starves the blower, overworks the system, and can freeze the coil. Understanding MERV Ratings
