“Up on the Backbone the power goes out for hours. Moorhead put in a Generac sized for the well and AC, and the last outage we barely noticed. They actually drove all the way out, too.”
Fischer sits up on the Devil's Backbone, about as remote and scenic as Comal County gets — beautiful right up until the power drops or the AC quits and the nearest help is an hour away. We make the drive.
Thanks for reaching out. We've got your request and we'll be in touch shortly, usually the same day. Need us right now? Call (830) 587-5790 — we're open 24/7.
Out in Fischer, remoteness is the whole point — and the whole problem when something breaks. A company licensed for both HVAC and electrical means one trip up the ridge instead of two, and a generator means the next outage is not an ordeal.
AC running but the house won't cool? Usually a capacitor or a refrigerant leak. We carry the common failures on the truck. Service call starts at $79.

Justin and Levi Moorhead have run this company out of Seguin since 2009, and Fischer is the far, scenic edge of our Comal County service area — up along the Devil's Backbone toward Wimberley. We know what ridgetop and ranch living asks for out here: well water, propane, long power runs, and the kind of remoteness that makes a standby generator less a luxury than a plan.
We make the drive
Fischer's homes sit on ridges and ranch land along the Devil's Backbone, on well and propane, at the end of long power runs that the weather loves to knock down.
We come prepared for it — generators sized for the well and AC, long-run electrical fixes, and propane heat service — so the most remote home gets the same straight, flat-rate work as one in town.
Call (830) 587-5790Fischer is a small, remote Hill Country community along the scenic Devil's Backbone, so every call is shaped by distance, elevation, and rural systems.
When a storm drops a line out here, the power can be gone a long while, and a well pump with no power means no water on top of no AC. We are a Generac dealer and size standby units to carry the AC and the pump, because out on the Backbone, being without both is more than an inconvenience.
Power travels a long way to a Fischer home, and voltage drop plus exposure to weather is hard on wiring and panels. We test the full run, upgrade tired panels, and add surge protection — important anywhere on the ERCOT grid, more so on an exposed ridge.
No gas lines out here means propane furnaces or heat pumps, and well water that scales up coils and equipment. We service both, do the heat exchanger and CO checks every visit, and flag what the hard water is doing to your system.
Hill Country homes are built for the view, and all that glass on an exposed ridge is a serious cooling load. We right-size the system and correct airflow so a beautiful room is also a comfortable one.

From the ridgetop homes along the Devil's Backbone to the ranch acreage around Fischer Store, we make the drive out here. A few of the areas:
Each one has its own Fischer page with local detail — pick what you need.
“Up on the Backbone the power goes out for hours. Moorhead put in a Generac sized for the well and AC, and the last outage we barely noticed. They actually drove all the way out, too.”
“Old panel, long service run, lights flickering. They found the voltage drop, upgraded the panel, added surge protection. Knew the rural stuff cold and were fair about it.”
“Propane furnace quit in a cold snap and we are about as far out as it gets. They came, fixed it, did the CO check, flat price. Grateful somebody reliable covers Fischer.”
Remote and ridgetop is no problem. Call and we will make the drive.
