What We Do in Canyon Lake

Every Service.
One Truck.

Out at the lake, the nearest help can be a long way off — unless it is us, and we are licensed for both HVAC and electrical. One truck handles the AC, the panel, and the generator, which matters a lot more on a Hill Country lot than in a subdivision.

We Know
the Lake Area

Justin and Levi Moorhead have run this company out of Seguin since 2009, and Canyon Lake is squarely in our service area. We know the older cabins in Startzville and Sattler, the custom homes in Mystic Shores, and the realities of lake living — well water, septic, long driveways, and power that goes out when the weather turns. We come prepared for all of it.

Flat-rate quoted before we touch anything
You approve the price in writing first. If the job gets harder, that's our problem — not yours.
We tell you when repair is the right call
If the system's repairable, we say so. We won't push a $9,000 replacement on a unit that needs a $275 contactor.

When a job crosses trades, we handle it. No second company, no second visit.

Lake & Weekend Homes

A System That Sits Is a System That Seizes

Second homes and weekend places sit idle for weeks, then get asked to run flat-out when the family shows up. That on-off cycle is hard on a system — seized contactors, dead capacitors, and bearings that gummed up sitting still.

We do start-of-season checkups so your lake house is cold before you arrive, not the afternoon after. Flat-rate, quoted before we start.

What We See Around Canyon Lake

Canyon Lake is not a subdivision — it is a spread-out collection of cabins, custom homes, and weekend places on Hill Country lots, most on well water and many a fair drive from the nearest big-box hardware store. That changes what breaks and what it takes to fix it.

Older Cabins in Startzville and Sattler

A lot of the original Canyon Lake homes went up after the lake filled in the mid-1960s, and plenty still have their first-generation everything — undersized panels, marginal wiring, and AC that was an afterthought. We modernize the electrical and right-size the cooling without pretending a 1970s cabin needs a mansion's system.

Well Water and Hard-Scaled Coils

Most lake-area homes are on private wells, and the hard water out here scales up coils, drain lines, and any equipment it touches. That scale makes a system work harder and fail sooner. We clean and treat it as part of service and flag what the mineral load is quietly doing to your AC.

Power That Comes and Goes

Rural Hill Country lines go down in storms, and out here that can mean a long sit in the dark and a freezer full of brisket at risk. We are an authorized Generac dealer and size standby generators to carry a lake home's real load — AC, well pump, and all. The well pump is the part people forget until the power is out and so is the water.

Mini-Splits for Cabins and Additions

Older cabins, bonus rooms over the garage, and screened porches somebody finally enclosed rarely have ductwork that reaches. A ductless mini-split gives those spaces real, zoned cooling without tearing into a house that was never built for central air.

Canyon Lake Questions

We genuinely serve the lake. Canyon Lake is in our Comal County service area out of Seguin, and we come prepared for lake-lot realities — well water, septic, long driveways, and homes that have sat empty. Call to confirm a same-day window; most days it works.
Classic second-home problem. Sitting idle lets contactors seize, capacitors die, and bearings gum up, so the system fights you when you fire it back up. It is usually a same-visit fix, and a start-of-season checkup keeps it from happening on the hottest weekend of the year.
It can. Hard well water scales up coils, drain lines, and equipment, which makes the system work harder and fail sooner. We clean and treat as part of service and tell you what the mineral load is doing so it does not quietly cook your compressor.
At the lake, more than most places. Rural lines go down in storms and stay down longer, and when the power is out, so is your well pump — no power, no water. We are a Generac dealer and size the unit to carry the AC and the pump, not just a couple of lights. Prices published before install.
Yes — that is exactly what a ductless mini-split is for. Zoned, efficient cooling for cabins, bonus rooms, and porches, with a one-day install and no tearing into a house that never had ducts to begin with.

What Canyon Lake Customers Say

5.0★  ·  457 Google reviews

“Our place in Mystic Shores sat closed all spring and the AC was dead when we opened it up for summer. Moorhead came out, had it running in an hour, and set us up with a season-start check so it does not happen again.”

Tom W.
Canyon Lake, TX

“We finally put in a Generac after one too many outages knocked out the well pump. They sized it to run the whole house and explained why the pump mattered. Worth every penny the next time a storm rolled through.”

Sandra K.
Canyon Lake, TX

“Old cabin in Startzville with no ducts in the back rooms. They installed a mini-split and it is finally comfortable back there. Fair price, clean work, drove out from Seguin without a fuss.”
